My Amazing Self Control (which totally deserves to be rewarded at the earliest opportunity)

I've been living in the same house as a milk chocolate Symphony Bar for over 48 hours.

And it's still intact. But only because it's not the kind with toffee. My self control only goes so far, after all.

I bought it on (Black) Friday to send in my MIL's birthday package, thinking I could have it out of the house by Saturday morning at the latest. Unfortunately, sending the package requires several other things - like letters/pictures from my kids, school pics of my kids, and other little birthday-ish things - and Saturday was so busy I never got around to any of it.

And it's just sitting there staring at me. And I refuse to eat it, because it's not really mine. It's my MIL's. And I should have a LITTLE self-control. Considering the fact that I've managed to fall asleep TWO TIMES with the stupid thing calling my name is really pretty good for me. Let me just put it into perspective for you:

If I were Edward, the Symphony Bar would be my Bella. My husband (who would be thoroughly disgusted with me for losing control and eating his mother's gift) practically had to physically restrain me earlier.

If it had toffee chips in it, I would have overpowered him.

In fact, the only thing keeping me from the offending piece of chocolate right now is the fact that it is void of toffee. Well, that and the knowledge that tomorrow, at the earliest opportunity, I will go buy myself one (with toffee) and eat it alone so I don't have to share a single bite.

Maybe I should go to bed early so tomorrow comes a little faster. (And I'm seriously salivating RIGHT NOW just thinking about it. Like when Edward talks of his mouth "filling with venom"...) (And I can't believe I'm actually using a Twilight analogy. I didn't even love the books the way I was supposed to - being LDS AND female...)

So, farewell until tomorrow - and the long awaited and totally deserved chocolate attack. You know where I'll be (in a closet), and you know what I'll be doing (inhaling Symphony Bar).

Try not to be jealous. (Or better yet, go get your OWN Symphony Bar!)

Yes, with toffee they are irresistible. Completely. But 48 hours is a loooong time, even without the toffee!

And I didn't love the books the way I was supposed to, either. I didn't hate them the way I wasn't supposed to, though, so hopefully I won't be excommunicated or anything.

Cracking. Me. Up.
Enjoy your Symphony with toffee.

PS- Why are you buying your MIL inferior chocolate bars?

Thanks. I was just going to start my post-Thanksgiving, pre-Christmas diet today, but now I have to go buy myself a toffee Symphony bar and eat it.

Ok. I'm lying. (About my plan to start a diet. Not about the need to buy chocolate.)

I flippin' love symphony bars with toffee too! My husband doesn't get it. He hates toffee. What's wrong with him?!

I'm impressed with your restraint. Now that it's Monday, I hope you're fulfilling your desire!

Did you just tell me to go buy a Symphony bar? How dare you! Man, I used to love those babies back in the day (when I was pregnant with Russell that is...) I'm proud of your restraint. The sleeping is impressive.

For the last hour I've been trying to keep myself away from all the yummies in my kitchen. Now I have to go buy a dang Symphony Bar! With toffee, of course. Your self restraint is quite amazing.

Your MIL probably doesn't even appreciate the battle you have to go through just to get her birthday gift off...

I understand...

I love Brownies

and Symphony's with toffee in them.

all I do now is smell them...it's less calories! :)

Too funny!
I have those same desires whenever there is a Dove bar in the house!

Have fun with your toffee symphony bar! :0!

You are a far, far better woman than I!

I think you should have eaten it. And then bought another to replace it. But you would have eaten that as well because the package wasn't ready. So you'd buy another one---and one more WITH toffee at the same time. Then you could've had 3 and not 1:)

I love things with tofee also. Irresistable. Props to you and your restraint. I guess you couldn't murder it like the doughnuts you drowned, huh?
How did the losing two pound strategy pay off?

I once ate an entire chocolate Easter Egg I had bought to send to my sister-in-law.

It had caramel in it. I couldn't help it.

And that is EXACTLY my brand of heroin.

You're so funny. If that happened here, the chocolate would have been history the second the package didn't go out as planned.

And I have to say that your Twilight analogies are great. And the fact that you said something about Edward's mouth filling with venom means that you have read the online manuscript of "Midnight Sun" which, I'm sorry to say, puts you into the category of loving Twilight enough for the LDS and woman status. But don't worry, I just read Midnight Sun yesterday, so I'm right there with you. Plus it was an excellent excuse to not cleaning my house.
